A Song For You
Born into a musical family, Darius de Haas’s artistry is in part the music his parents performed (the Great American Songbook, Jazz, Broadway) to the music he grew up with (Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Chaka Khan, Peter Gabriel). This melting pot of musical richness served Darius beautifully in creating the vocals for the character "Shy Baldwin" on the acclaimed award-winning TV show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. This show features the Emmy nominated Shy songs and pays tribute to the many musical influences that informed the character of Shy- ranging from Nat King Cole to Sarah Vaughan to Sam Cooke. It is also a loving celebration of his family's musical legacy.
Performed with piano and can be expanded up to a quintet.

Day Dream: Variations On Strayhorn
Who is Billy Strayhorn? That’s what award winning actor and singer Darius de Haas (Broadway's Rent, Shuffle Along, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) sets out to answer in this celebration of the composer of "Lush Life", "Day Dream", "Chelsea Bridge", "Something To Live For", and the classic “Take the A Train”.  Still known mainly in his lifetime as one of Duke Ellington's greatest collaborators, Strayhorn has been increasingly celebrated for his own rich contributions not only musically (working with such artists as Rosemary Clooney and Lena Horne) but also socially and as a humanitarian.

First presented as his award winning critically acclaimed recording of the Strayhorn songbook, Darius de Haas continues his mission to place the emotionally rich music of Billy Strayhorn in the pantheon of The Great American Songbook.
Performed with piano and can be expanded up to a quintet.
